Iram Zehra, from Gilgit Baltistan, is the first college-going girl in her family and now an OMLAS fellow dedicated to student empowerment. Her journey of overcoming financial barriers fuels her passion for leveraging technology to break down obstacles and unlock opportunities for all students.
Omlas project: In the remote region of Gilgit-Baltistan, Iram Zehra and four other determined young women have embarked on a transformative mission. With the guidance of their teachers, they aim to bridge the gap between talent and opportunity in an area where educational access is hindered by isolation and economic disparities. Through the OMLAS fellowship, they aim to establish a comprehensive resource center catering to students of all levels, irrespective of their financial circumstances. The proposed project will be located in Gilgit-Baltistan, a remote region where access to education is limited by geographical isolation and economic disparities. She aims to address key Sustainable Development Goals SDG 4: Quality Education.
